Xabi Alonso has withdrawn from Tottenham and will stay with Leverkusen in the new season
Xabi Alonso was on the radar for Tottenham’s managerial post but made it clear in his statements that he will stay at Leverkusen in the new year.
Tottenham Hotspur are on the hunt for a manager following the departure of Antonio Conte and have been in contact with a number of managers but have yet to shake hands with anyone.
One of them is Xabi Alonso, who has had an excellent season with Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga and Europa League this year, but has indicated in his statements that he will only leave Germany after his contract expires.
Alonso took over at Leverkusen last October, his contract with the “Aspirins” expires at the end of 2024.
