Bayern turned the tide and became German champions for the eleventh time in a row. In fact, the Bayern players got themselves a copy of the “salad bowl”.
Bayern defeated Cologne 2-1, while Dortmund drew 2-2 with Mainz. With that, Bayern managed the turning point and clinched the championship for the eleventh time in a row, in a final that will be remembered for many years to come.
The Bayern players raised the Bundesliga Cup in the RheinEnergie Stadium, but it wasn’t the actual “salad bowl”. There was a copy in Cologne that the Bayern players celebrated with.
The original “salad bowl”, on the other hand, was in the Dortmund stadium, but was knocked over by Bayern and was therefore never used.
