Lothar Mathews has slammed Bayern management over the estimated €100m they will spend on Harry Kane’s signing, pointing out that the player in question is 29 years old.

Bayern are ready to ‘sacrifice’ Sadio Mane for €20m in the summer transfer window in order to be able to give Tottenham the €100m minimum they are asking for Harry Kane.

German and Bavarian football legend Lothar Mathews has opened up about the amount the club plans to spend on the England captain, recalling that he is a 29-year-old player.

“Kane is one of the best strikers in the world, a goal machine. He’s smart, he runs, he’s good in the air but I’m not sure €100m is a good price for a player who’s almost 30 years old.” He first explained, adding:

“If they extended Lewandowski for three years and gave him a raise, they would have spent less. He had an unsatisfactory year at Munich and would spend less than he now wants to spend on Kane.”
