Mainz – Bayern 1-3: Scored a hat trick and continues the hunt for the top

Bayern defeated Mainz 3-1 away, reached 20 points and are still in the hunt for Stuttgart and Leverkusen, who are in the top two places in the table.

Bayern came back hungry after the national teams’ break. Bayern achieved the double when they beat Mainz 3-1 on matchday 8 of the Bundesliga.

Bayern have reached 20 points, the same as Dortmund, and are still in the hunt for leaders Stuttgart (21 points) and Leverkusen (22 points).

Bayern opened the scoring in the 11th minute with a great goal from Coman on the right side of the penalty area. Shortly afterwards, Bayern doubled their lead with a header from Kane from close range.

Mainz were dangerous, had a post and reduced the score in the 43rd minute with a beautiful shot from Katsi from the left. Bayern sensed danger and with Leon Goretzka confidently secured victory in the 59th minute, despite the home team’s efforts to get back into the game.
