El Ghazi is suing Mainz for termination of contract due to support for Palestine
Anwar El Ghazi was fired by Mainz for his support for Palestine and is hitting back and suing the Bundesliga club.
The series between Anwar El Ghazi and Mainz continues as the Dutch midfielder is set to file a lawsuit against the German club, Bild reports.
Special has filed a dismissal protection claim with the Mainz Labor Court to prove whether the unilateral termination of his contract was unlawful or not.
It is recalled that the Dutch footballer (with Moroccan roots) spoke out on social media in favor of Palestine in the conflict with Israel. The team called on him to apologize, but El Ghazi did not recant and was therefore released.
