Gladbach – Leverkusen 1: 2: Return to victory despite two penalties from Sommer
Leverkusen went through a five-game winless streak and Gladbach conceded another win against Bayern to return to the red.
THAT Leverkusen prevailed 2-1 von Gladbach at Borussia Park, ending a five-game winning streak in all competitions. The “three points” for the 19th game of the Bundesliga puts them back in the race of the four and the Champions League, back when the “colts” returned to the red after the bracket against Bayern.
The game was nice, with good moments for both teams and a slight advantage from the hosts, especially since Jonathan Ta was booked in the 26th minute and Gerardo Seoane was only in front Panorama Retso on the bench he doesn’t count.
The visitors played harder in the 2nd half and won a penalty in the 50th minute, but Jan Sommer saved Patrick Sick’s attempt. From the following corner, however, Robert Andrich opened the shot on goal. In the 74th minute, Sik… made amends and scored too. Gladbach left the crosses for Brill Ebolo and found the goal with more organized football with Nico Elvendi in the 82′. In the 86th minute, Leverkusen won another penalty but Zomer intervened again, this time executing Karim Bellarabi. Retsos fit the match in the end and with his 3rd participation in the championship this year he also helped his team to keep the “three points”.
