Barcelona will give Dortmund €5m if they sell Dembele
Barcelona and Usman Dembele have not agreed on a contract extension, SPORT1 revealed that they would have to pay five million euros if they sold “Blaugrana” to Dortmund.
Usman Dembele’s relations with Barcelona have not been the best of late as months of negotiations between the two sides over the French winger’s contract extension have not borne fruit.
The Catalan club have made great efforts to convince the 24-year-old to accept the proposal presented to him, however, the player has yet to give the side a clear answer.
In fact, Xavi left him out of the Copa del Rey game against Athletic and sent him a message in view of the negotiations, while in the previous press conference he made it clear that the club can’t wait for him any longer and that if he doesn’t want to renew, will immediately try to find another solution, namely selling it.
According to German website Sport1, if Barcelona sell the French winger before his contract expires – which expires next summer – Barcelona will have to give Dortmund €5m as the two teams have agreed.
