The report states: “This highlights that European clubs and competitions are opportunities to use this interest and influence; To increase the accessibility of European club football to this audience and continue to generate a deeper interest.”
Sources close to UEFA insist it doesn’t hurt to discuss ideas, and say the UEFA-ECA joint venture is the medium to discuss new business ideas as clubs seek new revenue streams after the end of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This week’s ECA summit will also host Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali as the bosses of European football seek to learn from and hear from the experience of a sport that has seen a huge surge in US audiences lately. Previous summits have recently included experts from the Harvard Business School and Peter Moore, former CEO of Liverpool.
