Maccabi Haifa took the lead but Paris had Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar in their ranks to combine to score the goals in France’s 3-1 Group 8 win in the Champions League.

THE Maccabi Haifa scored in the Champions League for the first time since 2002, but Paris found the decisive goals 3-1 in Israel on Matchday 2 of Group 8 thanks to its big stars Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

The Israelis looked their multi-millionaire rivals in the eye and took the lead in the 24th minute through a beautiful goal from Jaron Sheri. A few minutes later, Franzi Piero also sent the ball into the net, but his attempt was ruled out for offside.

The Parisians reacted and equalized with Messi in the 37th minute. The Argentine striker has scored 126 goals in the competition, scoring for 18 consecutive seasons (undefeated) and against 39 different opponents (with Cristiano Ronaldo trailing behind on 38).

In the 2nd half, Messi returned Kylian Mbappé’s gift and assisted the Frenchman to turn the tables with a beautiful penalty. The Frenchman’s goal didn’t deter the hosts, however, who continued to search for goal, forcing Gianluigi Donnarumma to intervene again at half-time. In the end, Neymar finally ‘secured’ victory with his 13th goal of the year.
