UEFA wants to organize a tournament of winners of European tournaments and a club from MLS
The European Football Association would like to organize a tournament in which the winning clubs of European tournaments and a club from abroad from MLS will participate.
It is reported that such a tournament could replace the European Super Cup, which, as you know, the winners of the Champions League and Europa League play at the beginning of the season. Negotiations on the creation of a new competition are at an active stage.
According to one version, there will be four participants in the new tournament – the winners of the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League, as well as the team that won the MLS. UEFA sees the American market as an extremely promising direction for the development of football and therefore wants to enter in a similar way.
It was previously reported that some of the Champions League matches could be played outside of Europe, especially in China, the United States or the Middle East. This idea is allegedly supported by PSG chief Nasser Al-Khelaifi.
