Courtois: ‘The Bernabeu pitch didn’t help us against Leipzig’
Thibaut Courtois said immediately after Real’s hard-fought win over Leipzig that the condition of the pitch didn’t help the Merengues in their game.
Real Madrid clinched a tough win over Leipzig at the Santiago Bernabeu and Thibaut Courtois said in his post-match comments that the game against the Bulls wasn’t easy due to the pitch’s poor condition.
Still, the Belgium keeper kept the positives of that special game and the chance to qualify for the ’16’ with back-to-back wins over Shakhtar.
“Leipzig are a good team and we struggled a lot. The first half wasn’t good, the condition of the pitch didn’t help us play our football.
The coach changed at half-time, we didn’t create much danger but we sorted out what we had. It’s important to win those games and now beating Shakhtar in the double-header will ensure qualificationsaid the Belgian goalkeeper from Real.
