UEFA and the clubs are open to the possibility of hosting the Champions League final in the USA
The AS publication reports that UEFA and ECA are positive about the possibility of hosting the Champions League final in the USA as the venture will bring them numerous financial benefits.
The Champions League final has never been played outside of Europe, but UEFA and European teams are positive about the possibility of it being played in the US, AS report.
The reason, of course, is the advertising and television market, which in the USA is the largest in the world, and for this reason quite a few football matches have been played there, even if they don’t have the glamor of the top final club competition.
The ECA will meet in Istanbul next week and is likely to support this prospect as it increases the profits (from TV rights and sponsorships) of the teams on the financial side. UEFA has already agreed to sell its TV rights to three channels for €1.5 billion over six years
At the same time, in addition to the Champions League final, it will also compete for the Club World Cup, while together with Canada and Mexico you will host the World Cup in 2026.
