Lewandowski: “It was impossible to suppress all feelings for Bayern”
Robert Lewandowski spoke on behalf of Barcelona and his emotions about his return to Bayern Munich.
Robert Lewandowski is in Poland’s squad for the Nations League games against the Netherlands and Wales, but he was asked a few questions about Barcelona and his feelings towards Bayern at Monday’s press conference.
“The game against Bayern was a lesson for us. Before the game we didn’t expect to impose our style and create many chances. Now we have learned that we can do it. This game showed us that we can do it and we can create chances even in difficult games. It’s true that we made mistakes. To be honest, we deserved a win or even a draw against Bayern.” He first spoke about the Champions League group game where the Catalans were beaten 2-0 in Munich.
Then the questions turned to him: “Of course I wanted to beat FC Bayern. I also wanted to score a goal, but when we talk about emotions, you can’t completely ignore them because it’s not that long ago that I left Bayern. It felt weird going to a changing room and warming up in a different place. The game was a big challenge for me. It was impossible to suppress all these feelings. It was more than a sports game, for me it was an emotional game.”
Referring to the new page in his career, he said: “I’m comfortable in Barcelona. The adjustment has been very good. I know it wasn’t easy to come here, but now I’m in Barcelona, where I wanted to be, that’s the most important thing. I can say quite a bit Words in Spanish. I’ve learned how to order food in restaurants. A new culture, new places, new cities, these are the things that can get you hooked after a few weeks. Maybe in time I’ll understand what I learn unconsciously.”
“I’m learning how another club works, how its people run it. This is definitely something new and a very interesting experience. You changed the way I see things. Having the opportunity to be at clubs of this size is always a special plus, not just for the months and years to come.”
Finally, he spoke about becoming a ‘teacher’ for many of Barcelona’s young players, such as Pedri, Gavi and Ansu Fati: “I don’t see myself as their guru. They are well-informed, talkative and not afraid to ask anything. Even though they are young, they have already shown great potential and will improve very quickly. I will pass on my knowledge and experience for me. We mustn’t forget that there are some experienced footballers in Barcelona. I’m not just referring to the older group and the younger group. I’m new to the team and I want to have a good relationship with them all.”

Guardiola: In football you will be able to perform better in the future
Earlier, English Manchester City played a match against French Monaco in a new round of the UEFA Champions League.
After the match, the head coach of the “Locals” Pep Guardiola commented on the performance of the powerful team.
“In football you can always perform better – and this is the result. Our game today was very good in many ways. And step by step we will improve our results.”
Ale mi gave many speeches today in the right way. We created many scoring opportunities and found Phil Foden active in the first half. Most Gravians played at a fairly high level.
Previously, they did not let their opponents create anything, but created the chances themselves. We adapted very well to the superniks and played very well. This is my opinion.
If you get a good match on the right side, of course you have to… Today we got a great ball, that’s all I can tell you right away.
Holland? It’s really good. He plays to score goals. He struggled with three centre-backs and two supporting defenders in front of him, and it wasn’t easy for his partners to know that. Ale, we can work hard to score goals.
Tse bula spravdi garna gra. We created a lot of chances, but unfortunately in the end we didn’t defend perfectly against a free kick, which would have been quite a few, and we conceded a penalty, which was awarded when the ball hit the first one… well, that’s it.
Referee? “I have nothing to say to the Spanish referees,” said the Spanish footballer.
In the coming round, English Manchester City will visit Spanish Villarreal.
