ORBU: “Shakhtar, Leipzig and Celtic can count on second place”
Former Shakhtar player Hennadiy Orbu evaluated Shakhtar’s chances to qualify for the Champions League playoffs after losing 1-2 to Real Madrid:
“Everything is clear with the Madrid team – Carlo Ancelotti’s wards will be in the first place. After the manager change, Leipzig added a lot to the game. I saw their match with Celtic – the German team won rightfully. All three teams – Shakhtar, Leipzig and Celtic – I believe they can count on second place to reach the 1/8 final of the UEFA Champions League.
Shakhtar’s advantage is that they have so far scored more points than their opponents and will play in two of their three matches in Warsaw. Although I remember one of Shakhtar’s Champions League seasons where Lucescu was still coach, after two wins in the group they lost their remaining four games and went nowhere. So everything will be decided in the final round.”
