The Ukrainians suffered their 100th away defeat in the Champions League (Cup).
Shakhtar’s defeat from Real Madrid (1:2) marked the 100th place for Ukrainian clubs on foreign grounds for all the years he played in the Champions League (Cup). The hosts lost 58 to Dynamo, 37 to Shakhtar, 4 to Dnipro and 1 to Tavria. Meanwhile, Pitmen’s “creamy” defeat placed 20th in our teams’ battles against the Spaniards in the Champions League main tournament and 10th in their European Cup match against Real Madrid.
By the way, the Ukrainians suffered the 7th defeat in a row from Spanish clubs. Our teams had a longer losing streak with only the Germans – 8 games. On December 1, 2020, the Ukrainians celebrated Shakhtar’s final victory in the Champions League group stage match against the Spaniards, where they beat Real Madrid 2-0 in Kiev.
