Ancelotti overtook Ferguson for most Champions League wins
With Real’s win over Shakhtar, Carlo Ancelotti reached No. 102 in the Champions League to top Sir Alex Ferguson’s relevant list and is preparing to make history.
Real Madrid beat Shakhtar 2-1 in Champions League Group 6 while the Ukrainians struggled but failed to prevent three quarters of the European champions.
Yesterday’s Merengues victory was also important for Carlo Ancelotti, who reached a total of 102 at Champions League level.
In doing so, he equaled the record and caught Sir Alex Ferguson at the top of the relevant list. Both are now in first place, with pep Guardiola (96) and Arsène Wenger (84) follow in second and third place.
