Napoli – Ajax 4-2: New brilliant show and “4 in 4” for Spalletti’s super team
After the defeat in Amsterdam, Napoli also prevailed against “Diego Maradona” from Ajax, this time winning 4-2, making it to “4/4” in the 1st group and triumphantly sealing the qualification for the “16” champions League.
Napoli are one of the ‘hot’ teams to be seen in European stadiums this season and they proved it again on Wednesday night (12/10) with Ajax as victims.
The Partenopei defeated Ayanta 6-1 in Amsterdam last week and showed no mercy in the sides’ second meeting on Matchday 4 of the Champions League group stage, with Spalletti’s fantastic side triumphing 4-2 in the Vulkan of “Diego Maradona” having four different goalscorers and celebrating qualifying for the top 16 in Europe’s top club competition.
Lozano and Raspadori went into the water with two goals in the first 16 minutes of the game, with Ajax trying to react and scoring two goals, but the Partenopei reacted every time to win the final with fair dominance and the impressive 4/4 reach “in the 1st group.
The match
Napoli, after scoring six goals at Ajax in the Netherlands and four at Cremonese’s home ground, entered the turf of “Diego Maradona” with acquired speed, and after four minutes of the game their spectators took off.
He did so through a beautiful team effort, with Lozano creating a brilliant combination with Zielinski to make it 1-0 with a superb header to Pasfir.
Ajax tried to react immediately but Berghaus’ shot was stopped by Merrett and Bergwein went wide in the 9th minute before the blast erupted in the 16th minute with Partenopei’s second goal.
And that was a miracle as Kvaratthelia ran up and down the Dutch defense and served up at Raspadori, who dribbled away from his opponent and sent the ball into the sky of the net with an unimaginable shot.
It was his fourth goal of the Champions League season, with the young forward becoming just the third Italian player to score in his first three games in top-flight club competition, after Alessandro Del Piero and Fabrizio Ravanelli (both 1995).
In the sequel, Ajax not only equalized but also threatened to score, but that didn’t happen because in the first-half final, the Dutch were superior in the number of finishes (7:5) and possession (53%), but the Neapolitans go to the dressing room happy, thanks to their leadership qualities and the presence of the “miracle” Kvaratthelia in their line-up.
Like the first half, the second half started with goals, only this time it was Ajax’s turn to find their way to the net. That happened in the 49th minute when Bassey played an excellent cross from the left and Klaassen executed Merrett with a brilliant header from the heart of the home defense (2-1).
That goal gave hope to the hosts, but they were dashed again in the 62nd minute when the referee pointed to a shot from Ndombele (after checking through the phase) to the white ball in Timber’s hands in the wide Ajax area VAR) and Kvaratthelia to make it 3-1, with his 7th goal in 13 games for the Partenopei.
In the 74th minute Spalletti’s side scored the fourth goal but Pasfir stopped Lozano between the four to get into the final quarter and the game regained interest. And that’s because the referee ‘evened’ the penalties by sending Ajax in the cue ball for Di Lorenzo’s mark on Brombay, with Bergwein beating Merrett to make it 3-2 in the 82nd minute.
Despite the pressure Ajax put on the Neapolitans, not only did they stay cool, they also found a fourth goal in the 89th minute when Osimen capitalized on a tragic combination between Blind and Pasfir and sent the ball into an empty goal. to write the final 4:2 and sign the qualification of the team from the south of Italy in the top 16 of this year’s Champions League.

Pedri commented on the new format of the Champions League: An unexpected look from a football player
Barcelona midfielder pedri He answered the question about his attitude towards the new format of the Champions League with the general group stage.
“Do I like the new format of the Champions League? I can’t say with 100% certainty which format I like more: this one or the previous one?”
If I have to choose, I will do something new: There were more matches between strong teams in the first stage,” said Pedri, as quoted by Esquire.
Before the 2024/2025 season, the group stage of the Champions League consisted of eight groups of four clubs each. All participants played six matches in their respective foursomes, home and away, against each of the three opponents.
From the 2024/2025 season, a new Champions League format comes into force with a common group stage of 36 clubs; each participant plays eight matches, four away and four at home; The opponents are determined by lot.”

Guardiola: In football you will be able to perform better in the future
Earlier, English Manchester City played a match against French Monaco in a new round of the UEFA Champions League.
After the match, the head coach of the “Locals” Pep Guardiola commented on the performance of the powerful team.
“In football you can always perform better – and this is the result. Our game today was very good in many ways. And step by step we will improve our results.”
Ale mi gave many speeches today in the right way. We created many scoring opportunities and found Phil Foden active in the first half. Most Gravians played at a fairly high level.
Previously, they did not let their opponents create anything, but created the chances themselves. We adapted very well to the superniks and played very well. This is my opinion.
If you get a good match on the right side, of course you have to… Today we got a great ball, that’s all I can tell you right away.
Holland? It’s really good. He plays to score goals. He struggled with three centre-backs and two supporting defenders in front of him, and it wasn’t easy for his partners to know that. Ale, we can work hard to score goals.
Tse bula spravdi garna gra. We created a lot of chances, but unfortunately in the end we didn’t defend perfectly against a free kick, which would have been quite a few, and we conceded a penalty, which was awarded when the ball hit the first one… well, that’s it.
Referee? “I have nothing to say to the Spanish referees,” said the Spanish footballer.
In the coming round, English Manchester City will visit Spanish Villarreal.
