Wanting to like Lautaro Martinez’s celebratory contribution after Inter’s 3-3 draw at Camp Nou, Lionel Messi provoked fierce reactions from Barcelona fans, some even calling him… a traitor.
Barcelona needed just a win against Inter at the sold-out Camp Nou on Wednesday night to turn things around in this year’s Champions League and gain the upper hand in the battle for second place, but it was Milan who smiled in the final.
They may have fallen behind in scores but Simone Inzaghi’s side showed character and in the final they earned a draw (3-3) to keep the +3 from the Blaugrana and be the absolute favorites to qualify reach “16” of the institution (on the 5th matchday it is enough to win against Viktoria Pilsen at home).
“Heart, Personality, Humility”, Lautaro Martinez wrote on his personal account on Instagram, accompanying these words with four photos from the game (one team and three festive), the Nerazzurri striker being idolized by his fans and receiving, among other things, one hotly discussed.
That of Lionel Messi, in which Pulga endorsed his teammate in the Argentina national team, but this particular move met with strong reactions from the friends of Barcelona, who for their part considered it unfair, in the sense that it indirectly turned against the team of heart of.
Characterizations such as ‘traitor’ and ‘mercenary’ have been used by several angry ‘Barca’ fans, but perhaps this reaction from Messi will be forgotten in a few months given the scenario of his return to Barcelona to end his career in the Team in which he worked for 17 years.
