Champions League
The Barcelona President appreciated Xavi’s work following the team’s departure from the Champions League.
Spanish “Barcelona” President Joan Laporta commented on the work of Xavi’s team coach in light of the team’s failure to qualify for the Champions League play-offs.
“Javi is doing a good job. It was very tough emotionally today, we entered the field after we learned that we were eliminated from the tournament. No one can be blamed for anything. “We still believe and hope that this team will continue to move forward,” said Laporty.
As you know, in the 5th round of the Champions League group stage, Barcelona defeated Bayern 0:3 at home. The day before, on Tuesday 25 October, Inter Milan defeated Victoria Pilsen, depriving the Catalans of a chance to qualify for the tournament’s playoffs.
Barcelona failed to qualify for the second consecutive qualifying rounds in the Champions League.
