Simone INZAGHI: “We exceeded expectations by leaving the Champions League group early”
Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi He talked about getting the team into the Champions League playoffs:
“I’m happy for my players, the club and our great fans. We realized we were a very tough group. But we had hope, we wanted to move on to the next round and I think we exceeded expectations as we qualified for the 1/8 finals.
We had to do something special to achieve our goal. The double encounter with Barcelona, where we got four points, gave us high self-confidence. And we couldn’t miss this opportunity. This evening will be remembered for Inter and the fans.
After their victory over Czech “Victoria” in the fifth round of the Champions League group stage, “Inter” secured a spot in the playoffs of the tournament. The match between “Inter” and “Victoria” ended 4:0 in favor of the Italian club.
