Luciano Spalletti: ‘Liverpool is good’

Napoli head coach Luciano Spalletti shared his expectations from the Champions League’s sixth round match against Liverpool (November 1):

“I read that Klopp said they weren’t thinking of winning 4-0. I think he said it in all seriousness. But excessive compliments sometimes serve to glorify you and give you an opportunity to attack you.

On the other hand, if criticism is correct, there are always tips on how to be better.

Liverpool are good, don’t let the result of the last game against Leeds fool you. I watched this game as well as the previous ones. I saw the same Liverpool as always. If you don’t notice the ten chances like in the last game, it’s clear that there will be problems in the end.

We accept compliments as long as they come from the heart, but compliments don’t get you to the top of the table. We know that tomorrow will be difficult. Even though it is almost impossible to repeat that match, we have to be the team in the first match ourselves.

There is a big difference between first and second place in the Champions League group, so there is no need to answer the question of whether we want to win.”
