The qualifying scenarios will be decided by the final two tickets to the ’16’ of the Champions League
On Wednesday evening (February 11th) the curtain falls on the group phase of the Champions League and Sportish presents you with the data of the individual teams.
Eight games deciding the final tickets taken by two additional teams for the “16” of Champions Leaguebut also two for his knockouts European League will take place on Wednesday (November 2nd).
This will be decided by the sixth and final matchday of the group stage as some still have open accounts.
Just below you can see the dates for each of the teams playing today.
Group 5: Second place will be decided in Milan between Milan and Salzburg
Chelsea are the only team in Group 5 who know their “future” and were the first to secure their place at Stage 16.
From there, Milan have the edge for qualification, while Salzburg only needs one win to progress and get that ticket. Essentially, the Rossoneri want the same or better result than the Austrians to follow Chelsea to the last 16.
After all, Dinamo Zagreb need a win against Chelsea to hope for the Europa League round of 16 because only if they win and lose Salzburg can reach the 3rd place.
6th group: Leipzig and Shakhtar fight for the second ticket
Real have qualified for the next stage of the Champions League, but without having finished first.
Uncertainty in the group, however, is the second ticket, decided tonight between Shakhtar and Leipzig, with the latter leading by three points.
The Germans just can’t lose. In case of a victory of the Ukrainians, the second ticket ends up with them, as they are superior in the duel with Leipzig, having also won the first game 4-1.
7th Group: All were judged
With 11 points, Manchester City and 8 Dortmund secured participation in the “16” of the competition. From then on, Seville secured third place while Copenhagen was eliminated in fourth.
Group 8: Juventus and Maccabi Haifa battle it out in the Europa League knockout stage.
With one difference, Paris Saint-Germain and Benfica will continue in the last 16 of the Champions League with 11 points each. What will be decided in the final game is who will finish 3rd out of Juventus and Maccabi Haifa and who will be eliminated.
Both teams have three points each, with the Bianchioneri winning the tie and therefore wanting the same or better result to get the Europa League ticket.
