Eliot was the youngest Liverpool player to play in a Champions League game
Harvey Eliot makes history against Inter as he not only makes his debut as a key player in the Champions League but also becomes the youngest player in Liverpool’s history in the tournament, taking over the baton from Alexander-Arnold.
Jürgen Klopp has great confidence in the abilities and talent of Harvey Eliot and he proved that once again on Wednesday evening (17.2.), after the young midfielder was back in full action after a short time after his serious injury, he was thrown down .
Most notably, in the first game between Liverpool and Inter for the Champions League round of 16, he picked up a basic jersey alongside Fambino and Thiago on the axis, in which Eliot made his debut as a key player for the Reds game for Europe’s most important inter-club competition.
Even more impressive about Eliot, however, is that at the age of 18 years and 318 days, he became the youngest player in Liverpool FC history to receive a basic shirt in Champions League/Champions League (qualifying not counting) matches, the corresponding record of Trent Alexander-Arnold, who was a key player for the Reds at the age of 18 years and 354 days, against Spartak Moscow in 2017.
