Gareth Bale scored a historic hat-trick in the Tottenham shirt in which he was ‘introduced’ to football’s elite and went on to become the most expensive transfer in football history.
Gareth Bale has announced his retirement from football at the age of 33. The great Welsh footballer had a great career playing for Real Madrid and Tottenham, among others.
With the ‘spurs’, Bale made the ‘leap’ into the European elite and the match in which he struck was undoubtedly the match against Giuseppe Meazza’s Inter, in which Tottenham were defeated 4-3 and Bale scored a hat-trick.
The Welsh international scored fine goals to become the most expensive transfer in football history at €101m in September 2013, beating Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United to Real for €94m.
