The game between Atlético and Manchester United ended in a 1-1 draw in the first game of their match for the last 16 of the Champions League. Joao Felix put the Colzoner in front in the 7th minute, but Anthony Elanga found an answer in the 80′, although his team looked lazy. Now everything is open for the rematch at Old Trafford.

Atletico was the one who went into the field stronger. In the 5th minute Felix stepped into the penalty area from the left, made the game, but the ball went wide. The Portuguese striker found his way to the net two minutes later. After a corner kick, Lindelof cleared, Lodi made the cross from the left, Felix moved into the penalty area and opened the goal with his head unprotected.

From then on, Atlético was the one in possession. Atletico defended 5-4-1 and pressed in midfield. The visitors had their first notable moment in the 15th minute. Fernandez made the shot, the ball found Savic in the back, changed direction and left the corner. The Kolotsoneros took advantage of wrong transfers on the axis and hit the counterattack.

In the 34th minute, Lodi scored into the penalty area on the left, after a long transfer. With Lindelof on him, he made the shot that landed on De Gea’s closed corner net. Manchester United tried to threaten from afar with no response. In the 45th minute, the hosts came close to making it 2-0. A little earlier, Simeone took out Felix and Lodi, who were among the best on the pitch, and appeared to be paying for it.

In the 80th minute, the guests managed to find nets. Bruno Fernandez fed Elanga well, who made the move in the back of Atletico’s defence. Reinildo fell without being able to cut, Elanga left four and made it 1-1. In the 87th minute, the hosts narrowly took the lead again. Griezmann was on the right side of the box and took the shot, which landed on the crossbar. The last chance of the match belonged to the Red Devils with a shot from Lingard, which was blocked by Oblak on a second try.
