It is expected that UEFA will change the venue of the Champions League final following developments in Ukraine as the President of the European Football Union Alexander Cheferin has called an extraordinary Executive Committee meeting on the matter.

According to an Athletic report, the Champions League final will be moved from St. Petersburg to a new headquarters following the Russian military invasion of Ukraine.

UEFA President Alexander Cheferin called an extraordinary meeting of the Executive Committee on Friday morning (25 February) and is expected to agree on a place in the final. It is recalled that the venue of the final was the Gzprom Arena in St. Petersburg, where Zenit plays.

Today’s (24.02.) matches of the Europa League (including the game between Betis and Zenit) and the Europa Conference League will be played as normal. The European Association has also issued a statement in which it refers to this.
