Pep Guardiola: “We only think about how we will reach the quarter-finals in the Champions League”
English “Manchester City” coach Pep Guardiola shared his expectations against German “Leipzig” in the Champions League 1/8 final first leg.
“This is a great tournament. I love it. It’s a great privilege to play. I don’t know how far we’ll go, but we’re here. It’s not easy to even get through the group stage. So now we’re just thinking about how to get a positive result and reach the quarterfinals.
Right after the results of the draw, we realized that we had a tough opponent. We know very well what qualifications Leipzig has. This club is used to relying on young players, a good selection of squads, a clear game model, a tight game in the middle of the pitch, good “physics”. In German football, they have no equal in transitions from defense to attack and back to defense. “I have great respect for this club and the work they’ve done there,” said Guardiola.
