Miller: ‘Everything is going well against Messi, Ronaldo was the problem at Real’
Thomas Miller said Bayern always got the better of Lionel Messi’s teams and stressed that the problem was Cristiano Ronaldo when he played for Real.
Neither Kylian Mbappe nor Lionel Messi could help Paris Saint-Germain turn things around and qualify for the quarter-finals of the Champions League on Wednesday evening (8 March).
FC Bayern blew out the Parisians 2-0 in Munich Thomas Müller to explain after the game that the teams in which the Argentine star plays have never been an obstacle for Bayern.
Instead, he argued that the problem was Cristiano Ronaldo wearing a Real Madrid shirt.
“Against Messi (in his teams), things are always going well at all levels in terms of results. Overall, Cristiano Ronaldo was our problem when he was at Real.
But I have the utmost respect for Messi’s performance at the World Cup. His individual performance was amazing. He carried the whole team.
It’s not that easy to play in a team like Paris. It’s hard to find a really good balance in the team.” said the German striker.
