Nagelsmann: “Neuer plays against Salzburg if he shows no complaints”
In the second leg against Salzburg (March 8, 10 p.m., COSMOTE SPORT 3HD, LIVE Sportish), Bayern are expected to make a clear comeback, because according to Julian Nagelsmann, Neuer will play if he doesn’t show any knee problems by tomorrow.
On February 7, following Bayern’s win over Leipzig, Manuel Neuer underwent knee surgery for a meniscus problem that had been plaguing him for some time.
A month later, the German goalkeeper looks set to return. Specifically, he is a serious candidate for the 1-1 rematch between Bayern and Salzburg (March 8, 10 p.m., COSMOTE SPORT 3HD, LIVE Sportish) in the round of 16 of the Champions League.
“If he shows no knee problems by tomorrow, he will play. It is extremely pleasant for us, although Ulrich did well.” said the Bayern coach during the press conference.
Neuer took part in Bayern’s morning training session on Monday without any problems, a happy event for both Bayern and Nagelsmann.
