Champions League: Bayern’s fourth “seven” in the round of 16
Bayern were unstoppable against Salzburg, which is normal as they prevailed for the fourth time and scored seven goals in the Champions League round of 16.
Salzburg was the last victim of Bayern’s crash in Munich with seven passive goals for the round of 16 of the Champions League. Three other teams met the same fate against the unscrupulous Germans in recent years.
The beginning was made in 2009 when they defeated Sporting 7-1. Three years later, they scored the same goals but didn’t concede against Basel, while in 2015 they lost 7-0 to Shakhtar.
Only two other teams have managed to score seven goals in this period, Barcelona in 7-1 against Leverkusen in 2012 and Manchester City in 7-0 against Schalke in 2019.
That game marked Bayern’s 20th appearance in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, leaving two appearances behind Barcelona, who are second on the list with 18. Both teams now have the same games in the tournament (since the reorganization in 1992). ), with Bayern expected to reach at least 160 and Reals chasing 170.
