Benzema: “Real is alive and we will never give up”
The absolute protagonist of Real’s qualification for Champions League 8, Karim Benzema sent a message for more goals with the Madrilenians while also pointing to Ebape’s disappointment in the final of the game.
Paris Saint-Germain appeared to have the situation in hand as they took the lead at the Bernabeu with Killian Ebape, again 1-0 from game one through a goal from the French striker but the player who wanted to make history in this pair was another of his countrymen.
The reason, of course, is Karim Benzema, who scored three goals in the second half and led Real to a shock Champions League round of 16 qualification, with the veteran bomber becoming the oldest player to score a hat-trick in top European club competition.
“I’m proud to be the third-best goalscorer in Real’s history, but I won’t stop, I want to keep scoring. Real Madrid are alive and we will never give up.”
“We have to thank the Real fans, they were amazing tonight.” stressed Benzema, who also mentioned Killian Ebape:
“Killian was disappointed after the game, that’s normal because he wanted to shine like he always did. But he’s young, he’s got plenty of time for that…”
