Champions League
Ronaldo didn’t have a single final with Atletico, something he previously suffered with Panathinaikos and Barcelona
Cristiano Ronaldo finished the match against Atletico without a single last try, which happened only for the third time in CR7’s career in the Champions League after matches against Panathinaikos (2003) and Barcelona (2011).
Tuesday night’s match at Old Trafford against Atletico turned into a traumatic experience for Manchester United and Cristiano Ronaldo against the background of the 8 in the Champions League.
Losing 1-0 to Madrid (through Lodi’s 41st-minute goal) gave the Red Devils their 4th straight elimination in the top club competition, which had ended in a draw in the first game , while CR7 ended the confrontation with an impressive negative record as he didn’t have a single last try.
In fact, this was only the third time in the Portuguese superstar’s career in the Champions League where he played more than 90 minutes and didn’t have a single final, after Manchester United – Panathinaikos in November 2003 and Real – Barcelona in May 2011.
