Tsimikas laid the groundwork for Liverpool’s unimaginable away record
With Zota’s goal through Tsimika’s assist, Liverpool overcame Forrest’s resistance 1-0 and, combined with qualifying for the FA Cup 4, celebrated the draw of an unreal record in their history of away games.
Forrest was very competitive against them for most of the game but Liverpool found a way to unlock Nottingham’s defense and with Zota (goal scorer) and Tsimika (creator) on hand, they produced a superb 1-0 win at the City Ground on Sunday night, which they did sent home the FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City.
The Reds are staying alive in the 4-4 battle this season (they won the League Cup and still claim the Premier League, Champions League and English Cup) while their victory with no passive goals secured another golden one Page have written their story.
This is because they achieved five consecutive away wins while keeping clean sheets at home (previous successes with Burnley, Inter, Brighton and Arsenal), a feat they have only had to match once in their history from March to April 1985.
Consecutive winning away games without commitments:
Burnley – Liverpool 0: 1 (February 13, 2022 / Premier League)
Inter – Liverpool 0: 2 (February 16, 2022 / Champions League)
Brighton – Liverpool 0: 2 (March 12, 2022 / Premier League)
Arsenal 0-2 Liverpool (March 16, 2022 / Premier League)
Nottingham Forest – Liverpool 0: 1 (March 20, 2022 / FA Cup)
