AEK: The possible opponents in all Champions League qualifiers

AEK avoided an opponent in Champions League qualifiers after last week’s European Championship games. Which teams can send it to the playoff powerhouses.

The national championships are approaching their finals and the picture in Champions League qualifying is becoming ever clearer.

AEK is one of the underdogs of the 3rd qualifying round on their way to becoming champions and last week’s matches didn’t have much impact on their situation and especially on the image of their potential opponents, but when the season comes to an end, they will be able to to make safer judgments about what to expect.

Avoids mold

What the Greek champion has known for a few days is that one of her six possible opponents is the Young Boys, who won the Swiss championship and considered themselves among the strong. In the strong squad, the pair that includes Dinamo Zagreb will be one of the five pairs that will join the strong squad along with the Young Boys.

According to the new data, the corresponding pair, which Molde will be part of, will not be among the Union’s possible opponents as the Norwegian champions’ 24,000 points will not be enough to propel them into the strong league.

It is recalled that the balls in this procedure will only include two teams, AEK and Young Boys, and ten pairs from the 2nd qualifying round as their matches have not been played by the date of the 3rd qualifying draw. Because of this, each pair in a ball takes on the coefficient of the strong.

Visible opportunity to get strong

The draws with the presence of pairs and not clubs give AEK several chances to rise to a strong number in the draw of the playoffs, in which they will be present, since they will be played before their matches in the 3rd qualifying round .

As already mentioned, the “Yellows and Blacks” need a proper draw to place themselves in the group of powerful and theoretically increase their chances of reaching the gold group stage of the competition.

A suitable draw means a highly rated opponent in the 3rd qualifier, allowing them to take them on in the playoff draw and (along with their opponent in the 3rd qualifier) become a powerhouse.

As the games play out, it seems that teams like Ferencvaros, Garabagh, the Turkish champions (Galatasaray or Fenerbahce), Copenhagen (if they win the Danish championship) if they reach the 2nd qualifying round and will be drawn to AEK (also (like Dinamo Zagreb and Young Boys mentioned above), they will likely provide her with a factor that sends her into the strong playoffs.

On the contrary, when AEK meets a pair where the strongest teams will be like BATE, Sherif, Astana, etc., the path to… a move seems more difficult, even if the chances of qualifying for the playoffs are against such teams climb an opponent.

The dates of the qualifiers

Union will play the first game of the 3rd qualifying round on August 8th and 9th, the second on the 15th of the month (draw on July 24th). If they reach the playoffs (drawing on August 7th), then they will meet for the first time on August 22nd and 23rd and for the second time on August 29th and 30th of the month and secure the “ticket” for the groups .

Should he be eliminated in the 3rd qualifier, he will play in the Europa League play-offs on August 24th and play the second leg on the 31st of the month (draw on August 7th). If eliminated in the Champions League play-offs, they move up the Europa League groups, while elimination in the Europa League play-offs relegates them to the Europa Conference League groups.

As games progress and domestic leagues approach their finals, the data is becoming clearer. Until then the Sportish offers a picture of what AEK can expect without factoring in the possible realignment by the end of the season.
