Portugal coach Artur Jorge expressed his satisfaction with Braga’s 2-1 win over Panathinaikos, stressing that his side will do everything they can to win the second leg and qualify for the Champions League groups.
Braga maintained the two-goal lead against Panathinaikos until the 90’+5′. minute, the Greens reduced the lead to 2-1 with a Daniel Mancini penalty.
After the first-leg final, Braga coach Artur Jorge was happy with the result but stressed that his team will travel to Athens in the second leg with one goal: to win and qualify for the Champions League groups.
“We went into the game a little more anxious. We tried to fix that, but we talked to the players at half-time and we started very well in the second half.”
We scored early, we dominated, we made it 2-0. It was very important to win and we did it, it was fair.
I leave satisfied with the behavior of my players. We have to be pragmatic and we won 2-1. There’s no point in regretting 3-0 and the way we suffered. “We want to win in Athens, we will do everything for it”, expressly stated.
