The process of the qualifying phase is complete and now we will know the eight groups of the competition on Thursday afternoon (08/31, 7:00 p.m.).
AEK and Panathinaikos will not feature after being eliminated against Antwerp and Braga respectively.
The draw will take place in Nyon and will be broadcast live by COSMOTE SPORT 1HD, while you can follow the progress of the process on the live blog Sportish.
The holders of last year’s Champions League and Europa League are automatically placed in the 1st capacity group, along with the champion teams from the top divisions of the UEFA ranking. We saw the first two in Greece in the final of the European Super Cup where Manchester City beat Sevilla and from then on in the same group are Barcelona, Napoli, Bayern, Paris, Benfica and Feyenoord.
The 2nd capacity group includes equally difficult missions. It is the first where only each club’s UEFA ranking counts and Real are inevitably ahead, followed by Manchester United, Inter Milan, Dortmund, Atlético, Leipzig, Porto and Arsenal.
There are no negligible groups in the 3rd performance group. Shakhtar, Salzburg, Milan, Braga, Lazio, Red Star, Eindhoven and Copenhagen are the ones who are not only limited to the Europa League ticket but also claim qualification for the knockout stages of the Champions League .
In the 4th capacity group there are Young Boys, Real Sociedad, Galatasaray, Celtic, Newcastle, Union, Antwerp and Lance.
