GUARDIOLA: “I don’t even know how many opportunities we missed in two games”
Opening round matches were held on September 19 Champions League 2023/24 Manchester City defeated Serbian Red Star 3-1 at home.
The visiting team unexpectedly took the lead with a goal from striker Osman Boukari at the end of the first half. Pep Guardiola’s men scored three goals in the second half. Argentinian Julian Alvarez scored a double and Rodri put the finishing touches on the score.
Manager of Manchester City Pep Guardiola He made the following comment about the match:
“I don’t know how many opportunities we missed in the last two games. We played very well, but we couldn’t score. We were persistent and we won in the end. We shot on target 22 times, which means we did everything right.”
Red Star goalkeeper Omri Glaser aforementioned:
“It was very, very difficult. This is my first match in the Champions League and I immediately had to play against the best team in the world. “City controlled the field and I think they had about 30 shots and I made 15 or 16 saves.”
