Ten Hach defended Onanas: “Mistakes happen in football”
Eric Ten Hach defended Andre Onana after his mistake in Bayern’s first goal against Manchester United in the start of the Champions League group stage.
Manchester United were beaten 4-3 by Bayern Munich in their opening game of the Champions League group stage. Bayern took the lead after a mistake by Onanas, who lost the ball through his hands after Sane’s shot.
The Red Devils goalkeeper took responsibility in his statements. But his coach Erik ten Hach put up a protective shield and defended him.
“I think he shows that he takes responsibility and shows personality, which is what it takes to take you to the highest level. But it’s not just about him, it’s about the team’s overall performance. We have to support him on the pitch, help him.
It applies to all players on the field. You should understand that all eleven are in the same “ship”. Mistakes are always made in football, so don’t make it worse. Like I said, it wasn’t just Andre.” expressly stated.
