UEFA denies the creation of a new European tournament
The European Football Union has denied current reports about the impending reform of the format of European club tournaments.
As you know, it was previously known that UEFA, together with the European Club Association (ECA), was considering a model to create three divisions with 18 participants in each.
“UEFA is not working on a new project of this type. UEFA’s opposition to the so-called Super League is well documented and rumors to the contrary are completely unfounded.
We look forward to introducing a new format for club competitions from 2024, which supports the principle that domestic performance is key to qualification for European competitions and will allow fans to see even more important European matches, better competitive balance and an open tournament for all. “UEFA counts the match,” he said.
