Luis Enrique was annoyed with a reporter after Newcastle’s foursome: “What kind of question is that?”
Luis Enrique was in the spotlight after Paris Saint-Germain’s heavy defeat at Newcastle and fretted over whether it was difficult to coach such a team.
The party at St James’ Park to mark the return of the paper twenty years ago started well before half-time and lasted all evening. Newcastle broke me 4-1 in Paris for the 2nd matchday of the 6th group of the Champions League and took the lead in the table.
Miguel Almiron and Dan Byrne paved the way for England, Sean Longstaff added to the scoring and the French perhaps responded through Lika Hernandez, but they were unable to change their fortunes as Fabian Scherr was delayed in writing the final score.
Paris is in 2nd place, but at the same time it is in 5th place in the French league with 12 points.
After the game, Paris coach Luis Enrique was in the spotlight. When asked about the formation he chose in the game, he replied: “I am the coach of the team and make the decisions. It was a very good result for Newcastle, but we certainly didn’t deserve this result. We had a lot of bad moments and we have to play better.”
He said whether he thinks this heavy defeat in England was very difficult “Our goal is to reach the quarter-finals of the competition. We are in a difficult group, we know that, but we are in second place. The last few games will be entertaining.”
When asked if it was difficult to coach Paris, he didn’t take it entirely… calmly and responded with a question: “What kind of question is that?”.
