Vorskla lost to Italy’s reigning champions in Women’s Champions League qualifiers
On October 11, at the Stadio Tre Fontane in Rome, the Women’s Champions League second round qualifying match took place between the clubs Roma (Italy) and Vorskla (Ukraine). The match ended with the Italian team leading 3:0.
Evelyn Vince (15), Manuela Giugliano (58) and Valentina Giacinti (64) scored goals for the yellow-reds.
The rematch will be played at the same stadium on October 18. In order to advance to the group round of the European Cup tournament, Vorskla will need to win with a 3-goal difference.
Roma won the Italian championship title and reached the quarter-finals of last season’s Champions League, where they lost on aggregate to Spain’s Barcelona.
