Champions League
Sudakov: In the fifteen years with Pushich we have understood more, but in three months we trained to this point
Donetsk Shakhtar manager Georgiy Sudakov commented on the upcoming Champions League match against Barcelona and also shared his thoughts on the recognition of the new head coach of “Girniki” Marino Pusic.
“The emotions are positive, after the theory everyone was hostile. First of all, Marino Pusic is a good, positive person. I can say that we learned more in 15 minutes, but in three months of training so far.” I am confident that there will be a very difficult road ahead of us, and we are all in it. Dariyo has already said that on our side, from the players, there will be one that I fully trust the coach. And I am confident that with this coach we will achieve great success.
My first football uniform was the Shakhtar uniform, and it was Darijo Srna. Unfortunately for Dmitry Chigrinsky, I don’t remember those games for Barcelona as I was much younger.
Before tomorrow’s match, as Darijo said, we are not the favorites of this team, but we have a hundred hundred people who will have to play with their football, we want to play with the ball. We understand what Barcelona is and what it represents in this world, but we can even drink good drinks that require us to sing to ourselves. I hope that tomorrow we can show our football and take away the satisfaction so that the fans will be satisfied too. I can’t say what we are afraid of hurting someone, we don’t have anything like that. We want to compete against the strongest teams.
Last year we played the champions in Liza against Real Madrid and showed a very good match, especially in Warsaw. We may have spent a lot of money. These are really great competitions, where our whole lives have been leading up to. Playing against Barcelona – my special dream. I really don’t want to think about any fear, I want to give up the satisfaction and fulfillment of number one. We understand that it will be even more difficult, but there is no fear.
Of course, the subject of war is very difficult for all of us. We found her in Ukraine, in Kiev. During the hour of war I was with my squadron, during the hour of war a child was born in me. It’s even harder because there are so many riots at once, I don’t care about the kid and the team. This is extra motivation for us and for all our players. With respect to what is currently happening in Ukraine, we close our eyes to our every move, to our loss of life – we no longer accept it. We want to take away the satisfaction of football and show the entire country how important it is to compete not only on the battlefield, but also on the football field.
Young Barcelona? I just saw a young 17 year old boy score the winning goal in Barcelona’s last match. I can say that La Masia does a great job and there are incredible talents here. When I played against Barcelona with U-16, there were very good footballers, as if they were incredibly strong. I want to smell young, but show very high rhubarb. That’s why we can’t accept it, because it doesn’t play a big role in football. “There are many great gravitators who, even at the age of 17-18, show their genius and character and achieve results,” the club’s press service said.
Guess what, the match between Barcelona and Shakhtar will take place tomorrow, June 25, at 7:45 PM in Kyiv. On Sportish.co An online text broadcast of the match will be available.
