N. Shakhtar in the group standings are close to the European spring and want to take part in the Champions League
The 4th round matches of the Champions League group stage were played on 7 November.
As you know, Shakhtar Donetsk beat Barcelona 1-0 in Hamburg. In another match in Group H, Porto defeated Antwerp 2-0 at home.
Despite the victory against the Catalans, the Pitmen are in 3rd place in the quadruple standings with 6 points. Barcelona and Porto are leaders with 9 points each. “Antwerp” finished last with no points.
Barcelona and Porto will settle things in the 5th round on November 28. On the same day, Shakhtar will play a home match against Antwerp and they will need to win this match to remain in contention for a place in the Champions League play-offs. However, even a draw guarantees the Donetsk team a European spring, but in this case it will only be in the Europa League.
