Milan – Paris 2-1: Big surprise with the return of Donnarumma and destruction in the 6th group

Milan scored the first goal and picked up their first Champions League win with a 2-1 win over Paris after an upset that sent Group 6 into turmoil.

Milan lost to Paris when Gianluigi Donnarumma returned to the San Siro, but eventually they started the engines, scored their first goal in the Champions League and pulled off the upset and victory 2-1 for his 4th matchday 6th group.

Former Inter Milan stopper Milan Skriniar’s goal was immediately punished by a cross from Rafael Leao and after chances at both ends, Olivier Giroud became the only Frenchman to score in the French top flight fixture.

The atmosphere was clearly heated as Donnarumma returned as an Italy international to the stadium where he was adored, this time as an opponent. “Dollaruma”, as stated in the invoices who were thrown onto the field were the first to celebrate on the field, due to the goal scored by Milan Skriniar in the 9th minute with a narrow header, due to the invisibility of the “rosoneri” defense.

The hosts had previously threatened a good chance and were not deterred by the goal they conceded. They continued at the same pace and equalized in the 12th minute when Donnarumma beat Giroud, but from the rebound Leao equalized to make it 1-1.

Paris were also in very good form in the first few minutes and were hoping for a second goal, first with a close-range shot from Kylian Mbappe that went just wide, and then with a shot from Ousmane Dembele that hit the crossbar.

Giroud missed another chance as he equalized and the Giuseppe Meazza crowd couldn’t catch their breath as both teams repeated their chances.

After about 40 minutes of play, Paris began to slow down and play quite one-dimensionally. The presence of Radal Kolo Mouani and Dembele in attack went… unnoticed as all their teammates searched in vain for Mbappe.

At the “Rosoneri” there were no such… attachments, and in the 50th minute their French team completed the equalizer through Giroud with a dynamite header. Assistant player Theo Hernandez had a chance to score with a free kick moments later, but was denied by Donnarumma as the game moved to the Paris Stadium.

Luis Enrique made four changes from the 60th to the 65th minute, with Gonzalo Ramos bearing the brunt of the attack, but to little effect. Ruben Loftus-Cheek was able to control the center and Paris even tried to threaten with Mike Megnan’s goal.

Noah Okafor almost scored for Milan minutes after coming on as a substitute, while another substitute, Kiang Yin Lee, hit the post (also after Menian’s intervention) as Paris missed their last chance to equalize.
