Donnarumma: “The boos at San Siro weren’t easy for me”
Gianluigi Donnarumma saw Milan fans give him a wild reception as he returned as opponents at the San Siro, throwing banknotes with his face on them as he spoke of a difficult situation.
Paris Saint-Germain were beaten 2-1 by AC Milan on matchday four of the Champions League group stage, which hurt the French champions as Gianluigi Donnarumma had another reason to leave the San Siro bitter.
He received an almost “warm” welcome from his former club’s fans, as the Milan fans had still not forgiven him for his decision to move to Paris a few years ago, leaving the club when he made his first took steps and threw banknotes facing the club field.
So for one night Donnarumma became “Dollarumma” as his face was embedded in dollars thrown at his gate. The Italy goalkeeper recalled a similar welcome he received in a Squadra Azzurra game and spoke of a difficult situation.
“It wasn’t easy for me in October 2021 either, it wasn’t easy this time either. On the pitch you always try not to let it influence you and give everything for your team, but after the game you definitely think about it and release your feelings.
