FERNANDINHO: “We will hold the ball as long as we can in Madrid”
Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho spoke about the team’s plans in the Champions League semi-final second leg against Real Madrid (May 4):
“It was important for us to get a positive result. We were disappointed as we conceded three goals, but it was important for us to win because Real Madrid is a top team, they have the best players and this win will give us confidence before the Madrid game.
We will try to play as we played there, we will hold the ball as long as we can, we will try to create luck and inflict maximum damage to the opponent. We can and will be a little smarter – we will try to defend better and not give Real a chance. We will try to win in Madrid.”
City won the first game in Manchester 4-3.
