Howe protested against Paris punishment: “I don’t think it was the right decision”
Eddie Howe protested against the penalty that Paris won and equalized in the 90+8 minute in the 1-1 draw with Newcastle in the 5th game of the Champions League group stage.
Newcastle were preparing for… a double victory in victories over Paris, but the penalty scored by the French and well taken by Kylian Mbappe in the 8th minute of stoppage time kept them at the top of the 6th group of the Champions League.
In the match’s press conference, the coach of the England team, Eddie Howe, expressed his complaints about the decision that determined the course of the match.
“In my opinion it was not the right decision. You have to calculate so much in this moment. Especially the speed. If you show it slowly in repetition, it looks different than reality. The ball first hits the chest and then it comes down and hits the hand.
But I don’t think his hand was in an unnatural position. I think it was a bad decision. It was a disappointment for us because at that moment you know how little time is left in the game. But there’s nothing we can do now.” expressly stated.
