Manchester United legend describes Onan’s performance as follows: “His mistakes make the whole team nervous.”
Paul ScholesThe former Manchester United midfielder said after the Champions League group stage match against Galatasaray (3:3) that Andre Onan’s concentration was poor and made simple saves difficult.
“Coaches must be responsible to their players. It’s a shame because he’s looked good in the last few weeks. He’s making unusual saves and in the Champions League I think he’s very comfortable and lacks concentration. For a goalkeeper, concentration is everything.”
Of Onana’s second goal, Scholes added: “It’s a terrible mistake and I’m not sure what he’s trying to do. He’s making the whole team nervous, making simple saves difficult and I think he could have saved the team even with the third goal. He looks like he’s going to miss every time, so teams are saying ‘him’ “Go after it,” he says.
You can’t predict goalkeeper mistakes and it happens all too often now. “I don’t know what they’re going to do about it now,” Scholes said.
