Supercomputer calculates Shakhtar’s chances of reaching Champions League play-offs
After five rounds of the Champions League group stage, 12 of the 16 participants in the upcoming play-offs are already known.
The Euro Club Index supercomputer calculated the chances of the remaining places in the 1/8 finals of the teams in the four groups, including Shakhtar, who will play head-to-head with Porto in the sixth round.
According to Euro Club Index calculations, Pitmen’s chance of qualifying for the play-offs in the Champions League is 14%. For Porto, this rate is 86% respectively.
As for the other groups, Copenhagen, Napoli and Paris Saint-Germain are seen as the favorites in the play-off fight.

Let us remind you that Shakhtar must beat Porto away in the 6th round of the group stage in order to qualify for the 1/8 finals of the Champions League. Perhaps the only advantage of this situation for the Pitmen is that the Ukrainian champion will be content with victory by absolutely any score.
