From which football tournaments was Russia excluded? Complete list of competitions

The full list of tournaments in which the Russian team was suspended by UEFA decision has been announced. UEFA decided on upcoming competitions and continued to disqualify Russian teams and clubs.

In addition to the decision taken on February 28, 2022, banning the participation of all Russian national teams and clubs in UEFA competitions, UEFA Executive Committee Today, May 2nd, made a number of decisions for the upcoming tournaments.

The UEFA Executive Committee took the following decisions:

UEFA Nations League 2022/23

• Russia will not participate in Group 2 of League B and will automatically take the 4th place in this group. As a result, the team will be relegated at the end of the group stage and will finish 16th and last in League B.

UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 (last tournament)

• Russia will not qualify for Group C of the Euro 2022 women’s final tournament to be held in England from 6 to 31 July. It will be replaced by Portugal, which Russia defeated in the playoffs.

European qualifiers for the 2023 Women’s World Cup

• Russia did not play two matches scheduled for April in Group E (composition: Denmark, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Malta and Azerbaijan) due to disqualification. Russia will not participate in any of the subsequent matches of this competition and all results will be void. Therefore, Group E will consist of 5 teams.

European Championship 2023 U-21

• Russia did not play in Group C, due to disqualification, in two of its scheduled games in March (ranking: Spain, Slovakia, Malta, Lithuania and Northern Ireland). Russia will not participate in any of the subsequent matches of this competition and all results will be void. Therefore, Group C will consist of 5 teams.

UEFA club competitions 2022/23

UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, UEFA Conference League, UEFA Women’s Champions League and UEFA Youth League.

• Russia will not have clubs participating in UEFA club competitions in the 2022/23 season. As a result, the eligibility lists for men’s and women’s club competitions have been rebalanced according to the principles set out in the competition regulations.
• In addition, Russia will be awarded a coefficient equivalent to the lowest they have won in any of the last five seasons, i.e. 4,333 points for the men’s association club coefficient and 1,750 points for the women’s association club coefficient for scoring purposes for 2022/23. season.

Women’s Futsal Euro 2022 (last tournament)

• Russia will not participate in the final tournament (with Portugal, Spain and Ukraine) scheduled for 1-3 July in Portugal and will be replaced by Hungary, which finished second in Group 1 of the Main Tour, which Russia won.

Women’s Futsal EURO 2022/23

• Russia was placed directly in Group 4 of the Main Round. The three group winners and the second-best in the preliminary round, Russia, will be replaced by the second-best team in the main round, which is the second-best in the preliminary round.

UEFA Futsal Champions League 2022/23

• Russia will not have clubs participating in the 2022/23 UEFA Futsal Champions League.

European qualifiers for the Futsal World Cup 2024

• In the main round group stage draws, Russia will be replaced by Norway, the best team to finish third in the qualifying round.

Youth competitions 2022/23

• Russia will not participate in the 2022/23-17 and under-19 championships. Teams in their groups will compete against each other in a three-team mini-tournament.
• Russia will not participate in the Girls’ U-17 and U-19 Championships, and each competition will have an additional three-team mini-tournament.

UEFA Regions’ Cup 2022/23

• Russia will be replaced by the team that finished second in the preliminary round in the 1st group of the intermediate round.

Definition of Euro 2028, Euro 2032 hosts

The UEFA Executive Committee rejected the Russian Football Union’s (RFU) application to host Euro 2028 or Euro 2032.
